This Privacy Policy describes the privacy policies applicable to D&B HK Internet websites at www.dnb.com.hk ("Website") and any other collection of personal data by D&B in Hong Kong by any means whatsoever. In the event that D&B has provided a separate Personal Information Collection Statement to you, or D&B and your company have entered into a separate agreement, to the extent that there is any inconsistency between this Privacy Policy and the terms of such Personal Information Collection Statement or agreement, then the terms of the Personal Information Collection Statement or agreement, as applicable, shall take precedence.

Data Collection Practices

We process many types of data to support business decisioning, including data about people, businesses, organizations, places, economic activity, sustainability, legal and other significant business events, and third party risks. Some of the data we process is considered personal data. Some of the systems we use to process data are AI Systems.

We collect some information about visitors to the Website indirectly through standard web logs, including IP address, what browser is being used (e.g., Netscape), and the domain name from which a visitor entered the site (e.g., www.yourcompany.com or www.youruniversity.edu). We normally use this information in the aggregate to administer and improve our web site. Some data may be traceable to an individual, but we do not normally seek to identify individuals who are using the Website unless we believe that someone is using our Website improperly.

Some existing customers come to our Website with IDs and passwords already assigned. Others who register at our Website; or who submit an online order request for D&B to provide certain products or services; or who otherwise contact us to subscribe, order or request further information on D&B's products or services, are asked to provide standard contact information for us to contact them in their official capacity, such as name, title, company name, mailing and email addresses, and telephone numbers. We may also collect a credit card number from those who register through the Website to buy products and services on behalf of their company.

International Data Transfer
We process data in Hong Kong as well as in other markets in which we have operations, which we refer to as Dun & Bradstreet Owned Markets. Our transfers are managed in accordance with our intragroup agreements and governed by applicable laws, adequacy decisions regarding the protections in markets in which data is received, and multilateral frameworks for transfer and protection of personal data.

Data Retention
D&B will retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you services. If you wish to cancel your account or request that we no longer use your information to provide you services, please contact D&B at enquiryhk@dnb.com. We will retain and use your information as necessary to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements.

Purposes of Collection and Use

If you provide any personal data to us, you are deemed to have authorised us to collect, retain, transfer, process and use personal information about you for the following purposes:

(a)

to provide sales, marketing or promotional information to you in your official capacity within your company, about any of D&B's, its affiliates' our customers' products and services for use by your company in a business-to-business context. Such sales, marketing or promotional information about D&B products and services are not intended to be for the benefit of or use by you as an individual – they are aimed at and intended to be used by your company. for use in D&B's internal database, for providing and administering a D&B D-U-N-S® Number for your company, and for providing any other services or products requested by you, your company or any other representative of your company, or to provide products and/or services to our other customers; and

to analyse and compile information for D&B's internal analyses, such as researching and identifying market segments and needs;

(d)

to make such disclosures as may be required by applicable law or in response to a court order or subpoena or when otherwise legally required;

(e)

to complete business transactions, to fulfil and confirm orders for products and services or subscriptions for any products or services, to administer individual accounts, update D&B's databases, provide customer support, answer your queries or requests for further information, and meet government regulatory requirements;

(f)

to share your personal information (whether inside or outside the country in which the personal data was collected) with:

(i)

contractors who directly support the Internet services and who only use the information on our behalf in accordance with this Policy; and

(ii)

D&B's affiliates, credit card processors, auditors, lawyers or other contractors, or who are obligated to only use the personal information on our behalf for the purpose of the disclosure (which will be in line with paragraphs (a) to (e) above), and

who are required to destroy or return the personal information when it is no longer needed. These third parties' own privacy notices govern any information that they may collect on their own; and

to disclose your personal information as appropriate to protect the Website or our legal rights, or in connection with a sale or merger involving the D&B assets or businesses for which the information is maintained.

If you provide any personal data to us in relation to another individual, you warrant that you have been authorized by that individual to provide such personal information to D&B for D&B to collect, retain, transfer, process and use that personal information in accordance with the same purposes stated in paragraphs (a) to (h) above, and references to "you", "your" or "your personal information" shall be interpreted as references to "him/her", "his/her" and "his/her personal information", respectively, in relation to the individual who the personal information concerns.

Cookies

We sometimes use an Internet device called a cookie to store login or other information on your computer. A cookie is a small amount of information that a website transfers to your computer's hard drive. We use cookies to simplify your access and to tailor our services to your needs and interests. For some services, we offer users the choice of having an ID or password stored in a cookie so that you do not need to re-enter it when you return to the site.

 

Choice

D&B's business information products are licensed to authorized resellers and third party users for various business decision making purposes. A company representative who registers at the website may be offered an opportunity to obtain a D&B D-U-N-S® Number for the company and may also be added to our database. Confidentiality and Security Safeguards

Your personal data held by us shall be kept confidential in accordance with this Privacy Policy. D&B takes technical, administrative and physical steps to protect against anticipated hazards such as unauthorized access to and disclosure of individually identifiable information. D&B does not store users' personally-identifiable information on its web servers. All reasonable efforts are made by D&B to ensure that any personal data held by D&B is stored in a secure and safe place, and accessed only by its authorized employees or authorized third parties in accordance with this Privacy Policy. D&B employees, affiliates and third party service providers are required to treat personal information as confidential information and may not disclose it to unauthorized third parties. D&B employees, affiliates and third party service providers are also under an obligation to maintain internal security measures to protect the personal information from unauthorised or accidental use, disclosure, modification or destruction. Employees and third party service providers who violate D&B's privacy policies are subject to a range of disciplinary actions and/or consequences.
