The ESG Rankings dataset’s topic architecture was created by referencing several of the top ESG standards - SASB, GRI, TCFD, CDP, UN SDGs, UN PRI. Under each of the (E), (S), (G) dimensions, specific themes were described, as well as another layer of specific topics that relate to each general theme. Once this framework was established, each of the ESG Themes could be then populated with hundreds of variables sourced from various datasets within and outside Dun & Bradstreet. The ESG Rankings dataset uses the SASB Sustainable Industry Classification System® taxonomy for sector classifications.
